…LD Bags by Lally Dizon!
I’ve known Lally Dizon for ages—we’ve been friends since grade school, and our families are close :). It’s nice to see what a successful designer she has become, and I’m proud of the name she has made for herself. Lally has not only made bespoke bags all the rage, but her designs are now seen gracing the pages of the latest fashion magazines, and on the arms of politicians and stylistas alike. Way to go, Lally!
And it’s no wonder that Lally has built a credible and trusted name for herself—she has been designing bags for more than 10 years already, first as the head designer and creative director of her family’s bag manufacturing and exporting business. Here she designed bags for foreign brands for 6 years. However, when the export industry declined, she decided it was time to take the leap into creating her own eponymous bag line, and cater to the local market. And the rest, as they say, is history :).
Her latest Spring/Summer collection is my most favorite one yet! It is inspired by the Art Deco style of the ‘20s and ‘30s. I love the geometric patterns, and the mix of snakeskin patchwork with leather. I also love how she was able to translate very iconic patterns such as the British Flag and the Chrysler Building into her bags, and make it her very own.
Being a New Yorker once upon a time, I have to say I am most drawn to the Chrysler bag. It’s both attractive and wearable, interesting yet classic. The Brit art deco bag is a more fun alternative, if you’re into the rock and roll type of style. For an asian edgy vibe, you can’t go wrong with the Yin Yang bag. I love how the red and black together make such a statement!
With these amazing designs, you’d think these bags would come at a pretty penny (or peso, rather :)). But the best news is that they are quite reasonably priced, considering the bags are all original designs, and they are made of a mix of genuine leather and exotic skins.
Also, I’ve been told that each design comes in 6 different color combinations. You know what that means–more chances of you finding the perfect bag to match your wardrobe’s palette!
So if you are like me and you’re already drooling over these LD art deco bags, head to the nearest Vintage Restore branch, where Lally’s other designs can be viewed and purchased as well. Their flagship store is located at the 2nd Floor, Dona Consolacion Building, Jupiter Street, Makati.
For those of you who live in the Quezon City area, don’t despair—LD bags are also available at the newly opened Vintage Restore in White Plains! It’s at the 2nd floor, Bellitudo Building, Katipunan Avenue.
So to all you bag lovers out there, grab your chance to own an original LD art deco bag! Fun, stylish, and very wearable, I’m sure you’ll be a show-stopper wherever you go :)!
And to my friend, Lally, congratulations on such a wonderful, beautiful Spring/Summer collection :). What can I say, girl? You have definitely arrived :).
