Gotta Love Tarjay!

When I’m in the US, “Tarjay”–otherwise known as Target– is one of my happy places

In South San Francisco, there are 4 Target’s near my parents’ house and every time I’m there, my vacation is never complete without several trips to this shopping mecca.

Not only does it have almost everything–from basic necessities to furniture to electronics, but the stores are always well lit, well stocked, and the items are reasonably priced especially when they are on sale.   Personally, I am always satisfied with my Target shopping experience (and never leave empty-handed!) that I have to keep coming back for more

Aside from stationery and art supplies, I always make sure I pass by Target’s home section, as well as the section on women’s fashion.  Whereas many, many years ago, the thought of buying clothes from Target was unthinkable, they have totally turned this impression around and have made it one of THE places to find fashionable clothes and accessories without the exorbitant price tags.

Good Food, Good Times

Did I mention that I’m a foodie?  Okay, okay, I’m only “technically” a foodie :p

One of the things the H and I love doing together is trying out new restaurants in the city.  H goes for the food, while I am strictly an ambience kind of gal.  Not that I don’t appreciate good cooking and great flavors, but being a very visual person, I get an indescribable high when I’m in a restaurant that has well-designed interiors.  For me, the food can be totally mediocre, as long as the restaurant looks aesthetically pleasing.

Another thing I love is great conversations with friends–especially those I haven’t seen in a gajillion years!  I feel a huge amount of comfort hanging out with the people I grew up with, reminiscing over adolescent memories, catching up on the goings on in our lives.  Sadly, I don’t get to do this very often, especially now that the H and I have A.  But the very few times that the opportunity comes our way, we make it a point to pencil it into our plans because not only is it relaxing and fun, but it also keeps us sane (Haha!  Admit it moms and dads, you know what I’m talking about :p).

Almost a year ago, the H and I were blessed with the birth of our daughter, A.  It was truly a life-altering experience–one we’re still getting used to–but a positive change, nevertheless  Despite the lack of sleep and constant fatigue, A is our everyday dose of happy

Unfortunately, while A has graduated from waking every 2 hours, she still manages to get up very early.  Today, was no exception.  It was 4am when I was awakened from my peaceful slumber by A’s cries through the baby monitor.  She was hungry. Hubby had already prepared her bottle of milk, and was trying to soothe her, but it seems she wanted her mommy (hehe).

So I finally decided to take the leap and start my blog  Woohoo!

Welcome, everyone!

I have to say, this is unfamiliar territory for me because I’m really more of a talker than a writer, yet here I am, composing my first blog entry.  What made me decide to do it?  Well, aside from being an avid blog reader, I also have a lot of thoughts, experiences and ideas that I think are worth sharing.  If I can make someone’s day by posting a happy anecdote, an awesome design, or an inspiring story, then my blog would have done its job

So please do join me as I embark on this adventure in cyberspace (or is it the blogosphere?  Sorry, I still have to update myself with all this new lingo).  I promise to make it worth your while
